KFOR's mission has said it has stepped up security measures following the attack on the Iber-Lepenci channel to protect critical infrastructure. KFOR said it is prepared to provide security, logistical and engineering support.
After the attack on the water channel in Zubin Potok, Kosovo, the NATO-led mission KFOR has stepped up security measures to protect critical infrastructure in the region. Regional East (RC-E) command remains prepared to provide security, logistical and engineering support to all communities living in Kosovo”, the mission's latest announcement said.
KFOR reiterated that it continues to implement its mandate based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999 to contribute to a safe environment for all people and communities living in Kosovo and freedom of movement, “at any time and impartially”.
KFOR works in close co-ordination with Kosovo Police and EULEX in their respective roles as security reactors.
