Based on data from weekly seasonal flu monitoring, Kosovo's National Public Health Institute (IKSHPK), today it has attracted attention to increasing the number of cases reported by Grip, compared to the previous weeks.
“Since the beginning of the October year-long flu season and so far, via the Microbiology Laboratory at IKSHPK, 52 cases of Grip have been confirmed, some of which, due to the severity, have been laid for hospital treatment. The vaccine remains the most efficient way to prevent the spread of the flu virus. In order to prevent new cases and serious health complications that could come from Grip, I The KSHPK calls on citizens to be vaccinated against Gripi in vaccine units (QKMF/QMF) in the municipality where they live”, the report said.
The effect of the vaccine, according to I KSHP starts 1 to 2 weeks after receiving and defence continues about a year after the vaccine.
IK The KPS recalls that the Health Ministry in co-operation with the IKSHPK, at the start of the 2024/2025 flu season, has provided 85,000 doses of seasonal vaccine.
“From September 30th to November 30th have been administered 61,467 doses for endangered groups; age groups over 65; chronically ill; health professionals; pregnant women and children 0-5. The vaccine is recommended for other population groups, regardless of age. Citizens are also urged to implement other precautions against the seasonal flu virus and control of respiratory infections”, the report says.
