In a writing on the official account at the “X” platform, Havenier said the US-Kosovo Extradition Treaty was used last week to send suspect Ahmet Gashi from Kosovo to the United States to face trial.
“We highly value Kosovo authorities for American government assistance in this case. Our joint commitment to strengthening the rule of law continues to make our countries safer”, Heavenier wrote.
Meanwhile, according to the US ambassador's document has distributed to the X network, Ahmet Gashi is said to have fled to Kosovo after allegedly overturned the passerby in the Bronx.
“Bronx Circle Procuror Darce D. Clark, announced that a man in the Bronx was brought to justice for killing an innocent passerby in 2006 when he drove S.U.V. in a crowd in Belmont Avenue after a fight at bar”.
After 18 years of departure from the authorities, the defendant is facing justice for allegedly mowing a victim on the sidewalk with his car”.
I thank the United States State Department, the American Department of Justice for International Affairs, U.S. Marshals Service, and the Kosovo authorities for their help in the return of the defendant to close this case of meaningless killing”, the document said.
According to District Attorney Clark said Ahmet Gashi, known as Ahmet Arifi, 42, was charged with two points -- the second-degree murder, the non-obligible murder of the first degree, and the indiscretional risk of the first instance, Telegrafi writes.

He will return to court on January 16th 2025.
According to the investigation, on December 31, 2006, around 04:35, Gashi entered a debate and physical clashes at the Moonlight restaurant and bar at 2370 Avenue Belmont.
After being expelled, Gashi continued to debate with people outside the club and was told to leave.
Gashi allegedly boarded his black car, moved swiftly onto the sidewalk and scattered a crowd and hit Kemal Kolenovic, 28,.
Kolenovic, an innocent passerby, landed on the block from the initial crash and died of his wounds.
Gashi, under the indictment, has fled to Kosovo and was extradited to the US on December 13th, 2024.
