Kosovo Parliament Speaker Glauk Konjufca said this is the first joint session being held in Pristina.
“We are gathered to witness our unity in the face of political and geopolitical security challenges accompanying our continent region”, he said.
Konjufca said far that the Republic of Kosovo is closing this year under direct attack by elements related to Serbia, aimed at Kosovo's internal destabilisation, with terrorist methods and hybrid war.
According to him, the attack on the water channel at Iber Lepenc cannot be considered any different than terrorist attacks by those who refuse to accept Kosovo as a sovereign reality and as a legal and democratic order.
Kosovo's Parliament's chief speaker said that the attack on Iber Lepenc, on Kosovo's critical water supply and energy infrastructure, comes a year after the attack on Banjska, which organiser and supporters was Milan Radovici, directly supported by Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq.
Therefore, our union today at this session of our two assemblies constituted more than the symbolic cooperation between our two institutions. This session should be seen as evidence that Kosovo and Albania are with each other under any circumstances and without any conditions, since we cannot represent anything other than the national interest that is common to us”, he said.
