About the alleged terrorist attack has already reacted to German Chancellor Olaf Schelz, who has warned that the number of victims is expected to increase.
“Reports from Magdeburg suggest something terrible is coming. My thoughts are with the victims and their families. We stand by them and near the people of Magdeburg. My thanks go to rescue workers engaged in these disturbing clocks”, he said.
We note that a car went through barriers protecting the market in Magdeburg and hit the crowd of buyers.
The driver has been arrested, reports German news agency DPA. More than 80 people seem to have been injured in the attack.
As he has learned Welt in security circles, the suspect in the attack is a man from Saudi Arabia born in 1974.
He allegedly rented the vehicle used in the attack.
Magdeburg, west of Berlin, is the capital of the province of Saxia-Anhal and has 240,000 inhabitants.
