At this meeting, General Jashari has expressed his gratitude for Canadian counterpart, praising Canada's continued contribution from NATO intervention in Kosovo to this day.
He also briefed him on the situation in Kosovo and the region, emphasising KSF developments and achievements. Part of the discussions were the KSF's contribution to training Ukrainian groups and strategic goals for Kosovo's integration into NATO in the future”, the report said.
Later, the two Chiefs of Defence held a detailed discussion on areas of common interest for bilate co-operation. They also talked about finalising mutual co-operation in some key areas, including the exchange of cadets, military education, professional training, joint exercises and collective operations.
General Yasar and General Carignan stressed that Ukraine's victory in its fight for freedom against Russia's aggression is a collective duty and responsibility for all democratic states. They agreed that this war has an inevitable impact on our region, adding to the importance of international unity and support.
As the KSF announces, a particular point of discussion was the importance of reaching the cadde exchange agreement between the Centre for University Studies of KSF and the Royal Military College “Saint-Jean” of Canada. This exchange was praised as an important step for professional development and for strengthening ties between the two countries. At the end of the meeting, the two generals agreed on further deepening co-operation and identifying concrete areas for bilateral activities of mutual interest.
