Republican candidate for US president Donald Trump said he would be prepared to accept defeat after Tuesday's <x0 vote if they are fair elections”, while still raising concerns about the use of electronic voting machinery.
If I lose my election, if it's the right choice, I'd be the first to accept... So far I think it was fair”, Trump was quoted as saying, repeating a warning he used many times during the campaign.
Dressed in a red hat with the inscription “Maker Great Again”, he reiterated his earlier criticism of electronic voting machines, suggesting they were less sure than paper balloting and would delay the announcement of the results.
He has also been asked about fears of post-election riots and whether he would call on supporters to avoid violence.
“... Of course there will be no violence. My supporters are not violent people”, Trump said.
