One-source contracts, Miftaraj: They're the main source of corruption, but when there's no prosecutor, accountants, peppers make a lot of fun with people.

Ehat Miftaraj, director of the Kosovo Institute for Justice, commented on the issue of contracts with negotiated procedures, whereby the opposition accuses power of theft, while recently reported that nearly 2,000 such are being investigated by the prosecution.

“one stem contract is the main source of corruption”, Miftaraj wrote at the start of a post in Facebook. “This is a fact that is being recorded in local and international reports”.

He recalls that the VVV's <x0 when it was in opposition, and its leadership has courted and exhibited how close you corrupted cases of one-source tenders:

The one-source public procurement law defines it as exception and only in very limited cases. LVV and its one-man tender clientele have turned them right. Over 1300 single-source tenders mean that all of these tenders are suspiciously separate from the rare cases they can sign and not be violated by law”, Miftaraj wrote.

“The LVV and its people who drink from its corruption checks with public money are thinking that people owe it to keep the same people in power from being corrupted, enriched and at the same time nobody has the courage to tell you that you're stealing”, he added.

Miftaraj says the prosecution would be the solution for the next “ongoing corruption of this government”.

When a minister like Iron Murati comes out and protects the human-source contracts and the political corruption of this government, the only solution would be the prosecution. The Ironian, Albin, and the others in power know that our prosecutors fight corruption only at tables and conferences and on surveys that organise foreign embassies. So Kosovo has arrested prosecutors, prosecutors who neither know nor dare to protect their duties and obligations from corruption. And when the prosecutor doesn't have the accountants, the peppers make it a joke with the sweat of the people”.
