Through a Facebook post, Osmani indicated that the discussion focused on the road ahead of Kosovo, particularly on strengthening the country's security, stability and Euro-Atlantic future.

Meanwhile, Ruge, in an earlier statement in October, had stressed that Kosovo is still not on track towards membership in the Partnership for Peace.

I don't think we're actually in a situation when we can talk about membership. But I know that President Osmani and others have talked about Partnership for Peace, and that would, of course, be the first step. As you know, this requires consensus; all 32 NATO member states have to vote for it, and we are not yet there”.

We are not moving towards Partnership for Peace right now. But the fact that the perception of the people of Kosovo for NATO is so positive is something we should appreciate and is a big step towards the future,” said Ruge.

He also stressed that NATO strongly supports dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, voicing hope that this process will continue.
