Northern Macedonia Prime Minister Hristian Mickoski has talked today about yesterday's incident, where the Macedonian flag was profaned in Skopje on the day of the celebration of the Albanian flag.
The strongly condemned “still presents an act of aggression, something we warned would happen, that this kind of escalation attempt to create ethnic tensions is and will be. If you think it's an isolated case, it's not. Because as justice approaches criminals slowly, they will become more nervous, impatient and the only way to protect crime is this”.
I commend the long-term response of MPB, the Bureau for Public Security, SVR Skopje, members of MPBs who did not allow escalation, and reacted in the direction of the arrest of persons who desecrated the national flag. They will be brought before judges today, charged under Article 319, where the prison sentence is between 1 and 3 years in prison”, Mickoski said./ Alsat. mk
