Kremlin says Ukrainian ballistic missile attack was warning for West

The Kremlin has said on Friday that a Russian Army attack in Ukraine, with a newly developed hypersonic ballistic missile, aimed to warn the West that Moscow will respond to their “careless decisions and actions” in support of Ukraine. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov made those comments a day after President Vladimir Putin said Moscow used new rockets -- Oresnik -- in an attack on a Ukrainian military object.
“The main message is that Russia will respond to the decisions and reckless actions of Western countries that produce rockets and supply Ukraine with them and then participate in attacks on Russian territory”, Peskov told reporters.
The Russian “Pala has clearly witnessed its capabilities, and the lines of further revenge actions, if our concerns are not taken into account, have been revealed quite clearly”, he added.
Peskov said Russia was not obliged to warn the United States of this attack, but announced them still 30 minutes before launching the missile.
Putin remains open for dialogue, he said.
On Thursday, Putin said that using the new weapon was a response to the decisions of the United States and Great Britain to allow Ukraine to use their long-range missiles for deep attacks within Russia.
“Under combat conditions, one of the newest Russian middle-ray operating systems has tested”, Putin said, adding that it was hypersonic missile, which can carry a nuclear head.
Earlier in November 21st, Kiev said Russia had used cross-ccircular ballistic missiles, including a massive missile attack on Dnepropetrovsk.
Interccircular ballistic missiles are designed to carry out nuclear attacks from distant distances.
Such weapons were not used earlier in the war Russia launched against Ukraine in February 2022. / REL/
