The only Albanian MP in Serbia's Parliament, Shaip Kamberi, has said the budget proposed by the government of Serbia for 2025 continues to be discriminatory to Albanians in the Presevo Valley.
Kamberi has said that for a few years, the budget of the Co-ordination Body doesn't score.
The Albanian MP says that if this year's inflation parameters are taken into account and the projected next year, where it estimates that inflation for next year will be above 3%, the real budget value for this institution, through which development projects for Presevo, Bujanoc and Medvedja would have to be funded.
He says there are two million dinars less than in 2024.
“In the 2024 budget revision, I have proposed increasing the budget of the Co-ordination Body, for 120 million dinars and 100 million for infrastructure projects, while 20 million additional for subsidies to small and medium-sized businesses.
Both submitted proposals have also been rejected by the government and by parliament. In the procedure for approval of the new budget for 2025, I have proposed setting up for 200 million dinars of the position for capital investments in Bujanoc, Presevo and Medvedja.
But discrimination also noted in the new budget regarding national minorities and their needs, affirmation of their rights, inequality, is evident in the budget proposal for 202550, writes Kamberi, among other things.
