Kalla's opening word before the European Parliament makes no mention of Kosovo- Serbia

Kaya Kallas, who will replace Josep Borelli in the position of High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security, has today held an opening word before the European Parliament at the hearing for confirmation at one of the key EU positions. In her speech, Kallas has not mentioned the process at all [...]
In her address, Kallas has not mentioned the process of dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia at all, while the Western Balkans are mentioned only once in over 12 minutes of her speech before the European Parliament's Euro-deputs.
Kallas mentions the Western Balkans in the context of EU power and enlargement process as a geostrategic approach of the European Union, writes express.
For most of our neighbours, the European Union has a strong appeal power. From the Western Balkans to Ukraine. As one voter said as she left the polls last month in Moldova, Europe offers an election life. Enlargement is a geostrategic investment that is in European areas, in the interest of the European Union itself. That makes our union stronger. This makes new members of the European family more stable and secure. And that makes us all make progress. For the next five years. Here we need clear results. I would work side by side with the Enlargement Commissioner to achieve that goal. Likewise, I would work together with the Commissioner for the Mediterranean, with the package dedicated to the” region, Kallas said in her opening address.
Radio Free Europe's Brussels-based journalist, Richard Jozeiac, has also reacted to this, saying she has been curious that Kallas in her opening address to MPs has in particular mentioned something about the Western Balkans and nothing about dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia.
Dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia is one of the problems Kallas will have to deal with in the event of its confirmation by Parliament, Europe as the successor of Josep Borell. There have been reports that it will deal with the EU-launched dialogue process itself and that it will not even appoint a special emissar.
Her name is considered good news for Kosovo, since so far with dialogue they have led Borell and Lajcak, coming from two non-recognitional states.
