CEC: Over 21 thousand voters registered by diaspora · Global Voices

The application period for voter registration outside Kosovo is under way, which began 29 August and will end on December 26th 2024.

CEC spokesman Valmir Elezi has indicated that, according to the data, by November 26th, via electronic platform (http://diaspora.kqz-x.org), some 22 thousand 470 requests for registration have been approved, and another 21,000 and 399 have been refused.

“in most of the rejected cases, applicants have not been photographed while holding ID” simultaneously, he said.

Elez for RTKlive has clarified that of the 21 thousand and 67 applications approved, 5 thousand and 631 Kosovo citizens have registered to physically vote in diplomatic representation, 3 thousand and 64 are registered to send the ballot package to the CEC mailbox in Kosovo, and 12 thousand and 372 have registered to send the package with ballot papers to the mailbox outside Kosovo, Rt Ktl Klllves, broadcast Klanosv.

It is important to stress that the voter registration process outside Kosovo is not exclusive. This means that if a citizen is refused to apply, this is not a final refusal, as the same has the right to re-Apply. The CEC informs the rejected applicants individually because of their refusal to demand, and also rejected applicants are announced that they can re-appreciate the registration and attach the documents needed to meet their application in line with CEC guidelines”, Elezi said.
