Both blocks out of production, Kosovo is importing millions of euros in electricity per day

Importing large quantity of electricity is the result of the fall from the production of two Kosovo B thermal power plant blocks. Kosovo has had about Thursday minus 520 megavat power produced by its personal capacities, and virtually all this amount of electricity is provided by import.
Today (October 7th, 2024), Kosovo has cost electricity import 1.5m euros, this import needed to meet the needs of increased electricity consumption.
Importing the large amount of electricity is the result of the fall from the production of two blocks of the Kosova B thermal power plant, which means that for this cause, Kosovo has had minus 520 megavats of electricity produced by its own capacity, and, practically, the entire amount of electricity is provided by import.
On Thursday, as early as the morning, when the second bloc of Kosovo B fell from the production process for causes of technical defects (the first block has dropped during the hours of the night between Wednesday and Thursday), Kosovo's electromagnetic system has had a total of only 260 megawatt hours, amount produced by two Kosovo blocs A. (A4 and A5), which separately have production capacity of 130 megawatts.
Despite the ECK's report to the ECK's report of more detailed information on the fall of the Kosovo B blocs (even written questions at KEK Information Service offices and efforts to contact officials over the phone), until the afternoon hours we received no answers from KEK, while our sources confirm the decline of Kosovo's B units from work.
But despite KEK's silence, for Kosovo's fall from production, the imported quantity of electricity is also spoken. While, as KED spokesman Lulzim Krasniqi has announced today, spending electricity on Kosovo consumption has reached 930 megavat/h, which is very high and has conditioned the daily import cost of 1,5m euros.
Until the closure of this text, from KEK there is no information about how long the return of Kosovo B will last in the production process, but, it is known that while this thermal power plant will be in the <x0 resort”, Kosovo will spend a lot of money on importing electricity for its needs. The more it is now known that the prices on international electricity markets are on the rise. Today, in the Hungarian electricity stock exchange, of which most imported Kosovo electricity in case of needs, the average day price of an energy megawatt was 163 euros, while during the peak this price has amounted to 203 euros for a megavat-hour. /Economic Butletine/
