Democratic Union of Integration Chairman Ali Ahmeti considers that the Kosovo government should not remain silent in terms of Albanian concerns in northern Macedonia.
On the eve of the meeting of the two governments, which will be held in Pristina today, Ahmeti calls on Kosovo executive to speak with the prime minister of the RMV concerning the problems of Albanians there.
The DUI leader has voiced concern for disrespecting the Ohrid Agreement, following initiatives to abolish the Law on Use of Languages.
“I am directed by a call, with an appeal to the Kosovo Government that the concerns of the Albanians in Macedonia communicate... the prime minister of Northern Macedonia and have appealed to all political parties in Kosovo to consider the concerns the Albanians of Northern Macedonia, on attempts to change the language Law, change the agreement, the substance of the peaceful Ohrid agreement, and I hope that this appeal will go to the ears of state institutions, but even to the leaders of political parties in Kosovo not to be indifferent, because our historic efforts have been in common, in the direction of the freedom of the Kosovo state of peace agreement, and in the direction of Kosovo's political status, and the Albanian Republic of Macedonia has stressed it.
According to him, in northern Macedonia political developments do not promise any stable perspective, because several initiatives have come to change the Albanian language Law -- which this initiative, reminds me 1989, when Milosevic surprised Kosovo's autonomy, which is not good for both the Macedonian community and Albanians.
“Because the substance is affected, the marrow of the Ohrid peaceful agreement with the amendments allegedly to make over the law and use of the Albanian language in the Republic of Northern Macedonia, has been removed, as well as part, the substance of the Ohrid peaceful agreement, because without ethnic affiliation and the declaration of ethnicity, there may be dozens of reasons why Albanians are professionally prepared and left to marginalise, indeed, the dominance of the majority of the second Albanian community in Northern Macedonia is being installed on the north, and these developments are of concern for instance, Ahmeti said. / RTK
