During the first ten months of 2024, tens of thousands of cars have been introduced into Kosovo from foreign countries.
As in past years, even this year, Germany remains the largest exporter of cars in Kosovo.
Although Germany holds first place, many cars have been imported in recent years from Asian countries as well: China, South Korea and Japan.
Hundreds of millions of euros were spent on importing these cars.
If the same trend continues during the latter part of this year, 2024 will become the year at most costs to import cars from outside.
These expenditures have also resulted in state revenues, due to taxes paid when imports of customs, excise taxes and TV cars S.
The customs tax is a fee that applies based on the value of goods, when it is imported and exported.
The excise is a special fee that applies to certain products that are considered luxury goods.
While, The VSH is a tax paid by the last buyer of a service or product.
All these taxes together generate revenue for the state.
In Kosovo, they have already generated more revenue than in past years, still without counting the last two months of the year.
For electric cars, in Kosovo it is pre-empted to release the registration tax in order to stimulate their purchase as smaller environmental pollutants.
However, most cars imported to Kosovo are not electric.
Most of them are neither new but used.
The Kosovo automotive law envisions imported cars that are older than ten years old cannot be registered.
Despite that, 42 such cars have been imported in the first ten months of this year.
Without registration access, they can only be used for spare parts, reports REL.
