War crimes indictee seeks to stop detention: I don't intend to leave Kosovo

Because there were changes to the juro, accused Trajkovic has again been questioned about his guilt for which he was declared innocent, while the indictment since it was read before was considered read and read, reports the “Justice Vowtim”.
Defending accused Trajkovic, lawyer Dejan Vasic, in his opening remarks has asked the court to change the detention measure and the same be replaced by an easier measure.
According to him, the court has given no other reason why his defense is continuing the detention measure except to argue that the same has two citizenships, and that the danger of escape exists.
His defense request has also been supported by accused Trajkovic.
“I am not planning to leave Kosovo, I have nothing in Serbia, all I have, what I value spiritually and materially is here in Kosovo”, accused Trajkovic said.
In addition, the special prosecutor's opening word, Florie Shamlli, has been heard in this session, stating that from the evidence received and heard statements, the accused will be found guilty of the task.
It also applied to the court for witnesses to be considered read testimony, due to the economy of the procedure and the elimination of its procrastination.
The chairman of the court, Judge Arrini, took a ruling through which he approved prosecutor Shamlli's request that witnesses' testimony be considered read, while in terms of the defence request the defendants were detained the detention measure announced that the court will decide outside the hearing and will issue a written form of ruling.
Lacking the presence of unmarked witnesses, the session has been interrupted to continue on another date.
Otherwise, the Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo (PSRK), on 12 July 2023, has filed charges against Sladan Trajkovic, who is accused of war crimes against the civilian population.
According to the indictment, Trajkovic is accused that during the time of war in Kosovo, in the 1998-1999 period in the village of Reznik, the Wushtrria municipality and in the villages around this municipality, individually and in co-ordination with other people, has contributed to the killings, raids, torture, torture, inhuman treatment, being held in slavery conditions, deportation and deportation of thousands of Albanian civilians, as well as measures of looting, burning and destroying the homes of the Albanian civilian population that have not taken part in the conflict directly.
With these actions, Trajkovic is charged with co-ordinating with other unknown members of the Serbian Police Unit and other armed and uniformised persons having committed criminal work “War crimes against the civilian population”, pre-arranged and punishable according to Article 142 and 22 of the former Socialist Republic of Yugoslavia's Criminal Law currently incriminating as crimes against humanity from Article 1433, paragraph 1, sub-paragraph, 1.6, and 1.7 related to the 31st Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo. /Betimi for Justice/
