Lawyer Spartak Ngjela said that Freedom Party leader Ilir Meta had sought political refuge in Hungary before being arrested at the request of the SPAK.

Ngjela said that on the day of his arrest, Meta was returning from Kosovo, later heading towards Hungary, but returned to Albania after Budapest accepted the request for political asylum.

He had asked for political refuge in Hungary and had not given Budapest to him, so he was in Kosovo to go there and return. Within international rules it is, it has gone to Kosovo, asked for political refuge, and did not give Budapest political housing”, Ngjela told “RTSH”

Former President Ilir Meta was put in jail on Monday, October 21st, while 3 counts of charges, corruption, contempt and hiding wealth and money laundering against him.

Meta was left in “prison arrest” by the JKKO, while for his wife, Monica Kryegri was placed security measure “dueture <xx3>.
