Socialist MP Etjen Xhafaj, through a post on social platforms, announced that the Foreign Policy Commissions in the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies in Italy have approved the pension agreement with Albania, along with amendments to providing relevant funds.

Agreement Object
The object of this agreement is benefits from the mandatory social security scheme, which includes insurance on old age, disability and family pension, insurance for the benefits of illness and burden-bearing and ensuring unemployment.
There are over 500 thousand Albanian citizens in Italy directly benefiting from this agreement and about 4 thousand Italian citizens in Albania.
Since 2005 until today, Albania has signed a series of agreements on social security, including Turkey, Belgium, Hungary, Luxembourg, Czechia, northern Macedonia, Germany, Austria, Bulgaria, Canada, Romania, Kosovo, Switzerland Confederate and Croatia.
The agreements with Montenegro and Bulgaria are also expected to take effect. While agreements are under way with Poland and Serbia and have agreed to start negotiations on countries like Slovenia, Spain, Denmark, Moldova and the United Arab Emirates.
