Scandalous: Kurti government equips hundreds of official cars with civilian license plates to be sly after working and weekend hours (Document)

Hundreds of official cars have been equipped with civil license plates over the past two years, mainly because of the continuing tendency of state officials to use such vehicles overtime, but also during weekends.

Not rarely in the past are irresponsible state officials seen with official cars at weddings, during weekends on the Albanian coast, but the most extreme case was a few years ago on Pristina-Peja Street, respectively, in the village of Balinca, in the middle of the road and at the breaking point of the day, a Kosovo state official had sex relations in the 4Z license car, which was exploited by the Institute of Pec Prosecutor, reports Portal Front Online.

Because of such cases of misuse of official cars, former Kosovo Interior Minister Flamur Sefaj had decided in 2017 to cancel all civil license plates, as there were over 250 government cars with double license plates.

Portal Front Online in August 2024 has sent several questions to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MPB) about official cars that are equipped with civilian license plates. However, not even after two weeks of waiting by the ministry, which is led by Jedal Svecla, have responded.

After this refusal, Front Online insisted that the responses be received based on the Law for Access to Public Documents via the Information and Private Agency (AIP), by which the latter has managed to provide the required answers from the MPB.

Otherwise, vThe probes for double plates were taken during 2023 and 2024, during the government's mandate “Kurti”, although Prime Minister Albin Kurti was against misuse of official cars and black glass jeeps, reports Front Online.

According to responses sent by MPB through AIP, there are no fewer than 277 official cars that even have civilian license plates.

In addition, there are 13 official cars for which the decision is made on shaded glass, including a car in the Office of Prime Minister Kurti, one at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, four cars at the Ministry of Justice, One at the public company “Iber Lepenc”, one at the Ministry of Education, two cars at the Ministry of Health, one at the Ministry of Agriculture and from a glass-dark car in the Pristina municipality and the Obilic one.

Former Interior Minister: Ministers don't need to drive in official cars that have civilian license plates, tend to misuse

 

Former Interior Affairs Minister Valdet Hoxha has criticised Government “Kurti” over the official's admission of demands to equip official cars with civilian license plates.

Hoxha has declared for “Front Online” that this is a misuse.
