Sarrazine: Common regional market to be one of the main achievements of the Berlin Process

The establishment of the Joint Regional Market will be one of the greatest achievements of the Western Balkans. And there are many important initiatives that actually originate in the Berlin Process, which are being overcome by the EU”, said Manuel Sarrazin, special representative of the German Federal Government for Western Balkan countries. Sarrazin spoke on the panel titled “The main points, the successes and inclusion of civil society” at the Civil Society Forum and the Think Tank, which opened yesterday in Berlin.
As one of Berlin Process's <x0) success accounts”, Sarrazzin cited the creation of the Transport Community.
However, he confirmed that “things should have been done better” regarding the implementation of agreements that have been reached so far under the Berlin Process.
“We don't have the Secretariat or other organs for implementation in the Berlin Process, while EU institutions have much larger tools”, Sarrazin noted, “epeanwesternbalcans reports. com”
The Berlin Process was established in 2014 as a platform to boost co-operation between the six Western Balkan countries and the host countries of the Berlin Process, as well as the EU. Senior Western Balkan Six Officials (BB6) and their colleagues in the host countries of the Berlin Process meet at least once a year at the Summit and Preparation Meetings of Ministers.
The process also includes EU institutions, international financial institutions and civil society, youth and regional businesses. The forum is held at 8 October 10th, within the Berlin Process and is organised by the Association of Southeast Europe and the Aspen Germany Institute, with the support of the German Federal Office. /economics/
