Bolivia's vice president, Evo Morales, has stated that yesterday, he was shot at in his vehicle, amid political tensions within the factions of the ruling Socialist Party.
According to foreign media, Morales and his former economy minister and current president, Louis Arce, are involved in a power struggle ahead of next year's elections.
In a recent interview, Morales said two “vehicles were ambushed in the street” and shot at his car, claiming that a bullet passed a little “centimeter” away from his head.
I don't know if they were soldiers or policemen”, Morales was quoted as saying. Meanwhile, Morales, Bolivia's first indigenous president, posted a video on social media taken from inside his moving car.
The video shows him sitting in the passenger seat and reveals at least two bullets in the front window. The driver seems to have been injured, although he was still running the vehicle.
