The Constitutional Prosecutor in Pristina has launched criminal investigations against two journalists Vehbi Kaitazi and Freedom Mehmetaj, Pristina Chief Prosecutor Zejrullah Gashi has confirmed.

The investigation into two journalists is related to the discovery of the identity of Kosovo Intelligence Agency officials.

In a statement to Paparac on Wednesday, Pristina Prosecutor General Zejrullah Gashi said the case has been shared with a prosecutor.

“Yes, they have launched investigations. The case has been divided to a prosecutor”, Gashi has said.

Paparaci, has requested further clarification in the case, but the Prosecutor's Media Office in Pristina has said the prosecution is under consideration of information related to the subject.

“Foundation Procurory in Pristina, it's about your questions that report information related to the case you're asking, for now we can't provide more”, the Constitutional Prosecutor in Pristina said in a written response Wednesday.

Journalist Vehbi Kajazi said on Tuesday that he and three other journalists, Berat Buzhala, Ilir Mirena and Lirim Mehmetaj, are under illegal surveillance by the Kosovo Agency for Intelligence. Catetazi said these alleged AKI actions testify to the transformation of the agency into “the criminal organisation of power”.

Regarding the investigations being conducted against him and journalist Lirim Mehmetaj, Cajtazi said the case has been initiated by AKI through a report the agency has sent to the chief prosecutor's task manager of the post

“Kelmenmendi, this letter, which is required imprisonment for me and Lyrim, has been handed over to the Constitutional Prosecutor in Pristina”, Cajtazi said in a writing on the social network justly Facebook.

According to Katazit, the investigation into him and Mehmetaj is linked to the exposure of the AKI implications to the news of the Bosnia and Herzegovina-based medium Slobodna Bosna, who reported on allegedly funding two Kosovo portals from Serbia.
