After meeting with head of state Kasanoff meets opposition leaders today

US Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Western Balkans Alexander Cassanoff will meet opposition parties today.

A day after meeting President Vjosa Osmani and Prime Minister Albin Kurti, the US diplomat will also meet leaders of the three opposition parties.

Kasanoff leaders of PDK, LDK and AAK will meet at separate meetings.

At 10:00, the senior US official will meet AAK leader Ramush Haradinaj, reports Nacional.

On the first day of his visit, Cassanoff met with institutional leaders.

Initially, he has met with Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani.

After the meeting, the presidency has issued media communiqués, where some details of the meeting were shown.

According to the communiqué, Osmani and Cassanoff have discussed deepening co-operation and the importance of the US-Kosovo partnership.

“In this context, President Osmani underlined the importance of Kosovo's NATO membership, noting that an integrated Kosovo in the North-Atlantic Alliance strengthens the country's security but also contributes to the stability of the region.”, said in the Presidency communiqué.

Without meeting with Osman, the US diplomat has met with Prime Minister Albin Kurti.

After the meeting, the prime minister's office has announced that the main topic of discussion was dialogue with Serbia.

“Speaking of bilateral relations, Prime Minister Kurti addressed the possibilities of co-operation even with the new emissar Alexander Kasanoff, as well as our European partners following elections held and new commissioners. He added the importance of Kosovo's membership in international organisations and bilateral co-operation with the United States of America in this direction. During the meeting, dialogue with Serbia was discussed, where the prime minister expressed Kosovo's constructiveity in the process and the need for full implementation and the earliest implementation of the Brussels and Environment Implementation Agreement of Ohrid” is said to be announcing the Office of Prime Minister.
