Dear citizens,
As chairman of the Commission for European Integration in the Republic of Kosovo Parliament, I am sharing with you some initial remarks from the Kosovo Progress Report published today.
The report is widely negative as a result of the non-competential self-government of Vetevendosje with a Government that for four years opposed us with our strategic friends and partners, brought Kosovo under EU measures and brought no recognition.
In response, it is disturbing to have such a large number of serious remarks about the government and parliamentary majority in the Assembly, which has political responsibility.
The report has found that the report's recommendations from 2023 have not been applied in any area.
Furthermore, the advice, suggestions and recommendations of the European Union have not been taken into account for most key laws and policies.
The report has estimated there is limited progress between any area of governance.
Some of the more specific remarks are:
The government has failed to build dialogue to postpone the EU agenda ahead, so it is called for a positive approach
Power has jeopardised key reforms and has not held public consultations on these reforms
) Administration Organisation Reforms Not Realised
A limit to reforming the justice system
Avoid of strong advice from the EU and Venice Commission about the Law for Prosecutorial Council and other reforms in the field of justice
) Limited Progress in Fighting Corruption
) Government Efforts to Control Media
Assessing EU recommendations and other international organisations for media regulator
Urgent call to address independence and responsibility on Kosovo Public Television Radio
) Poor public investment management and poor supervision of public enterprises
The procurement system accompanied by irregularities and exposed to corruption
Aside from procedures in the Parliament for adoption of 18 laws and failure in fulfilling deadlines set by the Constitutional Court to review laws
Government refusal to answer parliamentary questions by damaging democracy in the country
High delays in implementing the EU agenda, which is entirely in the responsibility of the First Deputy Prime Minister, including the failure to include ministries in the process.
