Kosovo's NATO integration, Haradinaj: It is important that states be responsible and act on accountability

Alliance for the Future of Kosovo Chairman Ramush Haradinaj has attended the Global Pearson Forum 2024. He said he has spoken of the statehood process and the importance of embracing Western values in achieving our aspirations for Euro-Atlantic integration.

Haradinaj said freedom has come as a result of a long process, as he added that Kosovo is a successful story, success made even greater support and partnership that comes from the America-led democratic world.

At the University of Chicago's invitation, at the Global Pearson Forum, 2024, I had the opportunity to share Kosovo's history from fighting in statehood. Before many scholars and high-level world decisionmakers and experts, I presented our vision for a sustainable future. I talked about the importance of diplomacy and international co-operation. I stressed Kosovo's path towards freedom and statehood and the importance of embracing Western values in achieving our aspirations for Euro-Atlantic integration. Freedom resulted in a long process. In the 1990s, he began his peaceful resistance. In 1997-1999, we launched a liberation war and later, on March 24, 1999, NATO air strikes, led by the US, which led to freedom and independence. This journey was by no means easy, but it was still stable. Kosovo, it is a successful story, the success made even greater the support and partnership that comes from the America-led democratic world. Kosovo is looking forward to moving faster towards NATO integration. It is important that the states be responsible and act on accountability”, he said.
