Today, the next meetings will be held under the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue at the level of top negotiators under the mediation of European Union's emissary, Miroslav Lajcak.
Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi's adviser, Klisman Kadiu, said a few days ago that implementation of the Ohrid Agreement will be the focus of these discussions, while saying the Kosovo side will continue to be constructive.
The next “week, on 24 October, will be held next meetings under the dialogue process in Brussels, at the level of the chief negotiator. In all, the focus of the discussions will be the road ahead in implementing the Basic Agreement and its Ohrid Annex. Kosovo will continue to be constructive and positively engaged in the process”, he has said of Gazeta Express
The format of meetings will depend on discussions there. However, the last time Besnik Bislim and Petar Petkov, chief negotiator of the Serbian side, were in Brussels, there was no trilateral meeting on 17 September when meetings were held.
Bislimi after two meetings he had with mediator Lajcak had said the trilateral meeting was not realised because the Serbian side of “provided that the meeting agenda with unacceptable requests for Kosovo”.
That day, ZKM had announced the meeting, stressing that the “should be opened, without further delay”.
The “This issue has already been addressed and agreed on in Brussels, within the dialogue process, and that it should be opened under the existing agreement, where it is also described as symbol of normalisation” said in the statement.
Petkovic, however, had accused Bisimi of refusing to meet with the Serbian side because of his insistence on topics such as the Association of Serb majority municipalities.
While Lajcak had expressed regret not to realise a trilateral meeting.
I waited today in Brussels for two chief negotiators, Kosovo and Serbia, as well as their delegations for separate meetings. I'm sorry we didn't handle the most urgent issues in a trilateral format today. I remain available to the parties, and we will continue in the weeks following”, Lajcak wrote then.
Today, the implementation of the Ohrid Agreement has spoken to Prime Minister Albin Kurti's adviser, Jeton Zulfaj, who, referring to former Serbian Prime Minister Anna Brnabiq's letter, saying Serbia withdraws from the agreement, said there should be a return of confidence in the agreement and then full implementation of it.
The “Agreement we have reached last year, the position of Kosovo is that it must have full implementation and that in this direction we must first have a sequence plan for which the deputy prime minister is working and chief negotiator Besnik Bislimi”, said Zulfaj, adding: “As long as they are out of the agreement must return to trust in the agreement and then full implementation of it. There can be no partial application, but complete implementation”.
