Jasharaj: Murati talking about wages should not pride himself but fry

The chairman of the United Trade Union of Education, Science and Culture (SBASHK), Nundman Jasharaj, has reacted sharply to statements by Finance Minister Hekuran Murati on the rise of wages in Kosovo. Jasharaj stressed that the minister does not have to boast about salary increases, but rather has to fry when talking about this sensitive topic.
“Minister Murati has attempted to create an impression that wages have increased, relying on statistics by the Kosovo Statistics Agency (ASK). But, as we all know, the increase of only 28 euros in the education sector is an ironic and derogatory figure for employees,” said Jasharaj.
He added that the minister raised the value of the salary cofficiency without consulting, neglecting the workers' real needs.
Jasharaj sharply criticised Murat's approach to unions, calling it hostile. This approach of the minister is unacceptable. He must understand that legitimate requirements for salary increases are reasonable and reflect the economic reality that education workers are experiencing,”, he said.
Referring to the steady increase in the prices of essential articles, Jasharaj underlined that the economic situation is burdening workers' lives. ”
The price hikes are obvious, but the increase in wages to cope with these prices has not occurred. The minister must put aside statements full of pride and face bitter reality,” he stressed.
He also noted that the countries around Kosovo have taken measures to increase wages in different sectors.
“Minister Murati let him take a look at Albania and Montenegro. There, education teachers have salaries of over 900 euros. These are measures that help employees cope with inflation,” added Jasharaj.
In conclusion, he said that despite the applause he may receive from those who blindly believe him, <x0 thousand employees in the public sector know the truth and are angry. They are barely linking the beginning of the month to its end, and many are on credit. ”
“Minister Murati, when talking about wages, doesn't have to pride himself, but needs to fry,” finished Bentman Jasharaj, appealing for a more constructive dialogue and for a real solution to workers' problems.
