Ilir Meta sent to Security Block after stopping at Tirana Police Directorate

Freedom Party Chairman Ilir Meta after the SPAK warrant has arrived at the premises of the Tirana Police Directorate and is then headed to the Security Block (centre where the first detainees are sent).

The Panorama newspaper reports that his arrival in Tirana Police was secretly and out of the media eye. Ilir Meta within Tirana Police environments has also appeared tense and has debated with agents of the National Bureau of Investigation.

Meta was arrested at the order of the Special Prosecutor against Corruption (SPAK), while returning from Kosovo.

The SPAK has reportedly conducted a rich investigation into it.

This investigation is believed to be the cause of today's arrest, while there are other investigative issues against it.

Meta had stayed for more than three hours in front of investigators at the Special Prosecution in June. His statements taught him that he had been asked about issues related to family wealth.

Meta has been president, prime minister, foreign minister, while holding other top state positions in Albania.
