Kosovo enters hard in international history, becoming part of the International Federation for Sports Medicine (FIMS) as a regular member. This decision was taken at the Assembly of the Council of Delegates in Dubai on Saturday, October 26th.
In addition to a abstention from Georgia, all the countries present unanimously voted for Kosovo membership, enthusiastically acknowledging the Kosovo Association for Sports Medicine project (KASEM), an initiative that was established under the UBT initiative.
Rector UBT's, Prof. Dr. Edmond Hajriz was present to present the presentation and make this historic request. He thanked the delegates for their contribution to the process and praised the Executive Committee for accepting the decision to the Council General of Delegates. A special thanks went to Professor Norbert Bachl, who has been a constant support for Kosovo in helping build necessary membership structures, as well as FIMS President Prof. Fabio Pigozzi.

Rector Hajriz stressed that Kosovo will be a committed and responsible member ready to contribute to the development of sports medicine at new international levels. This membership represents not only a major success for Kosovo but also an opportunity to promote and develop even more sports medicine with international standards.
In this context, Kosovo is finally creating a new path for sports athletes and medical professionals, taking an important step towards a brighter future. FIMS membership is a testimony to Kosovo's commitment to advancing this discipline at the global level, becoming a inspiring model for other countries.

In this important event, besides membership, Rector Hajriz took part in Congress, visited the technology fair in sports medicine, and held conversations with companies for co-operation with UBT and Kosovo. Rector Hajriz also held a series of different meetings with delegates and experts from various countries, including representatives of the world's Olympic committees.
