Food for KSF, Tahiri: The Parliament will force Government to resolve this issue urgently

The Kosovo Assembly will hold an extraordinary session tomorrow at lunch, on the issue of supplying food to Kosovo Security Force soldiers.

AAK parliamentary group chief Besnik Tahiri said a resolution urging the Government to resolve the created situation urgently will be proposed.

“Proposation Resolution is simple: The Government of the Republic of Kosovo, the Ministry of Defence, urgently resolves the food supply issue as well as all other necessary equipment. Tomorrow the Assembly will force Government to resolve this matter”, he wrote in a Facebook post.

Tahiri said this draft of resolution “could be fulfilled by MPs in session”.

The minister of defence said earlier today that they are aiming to re-negotiate negative” effects on the supply and food service of KSF personnel.

Ejup Macedonia published a “ex1> on Facebook after a letter the KSF commander, the Jashari Union sent to this ministry, warning that this situation could force them to take steps for “the suspension of all planned” activities and that the army operate “alone with essential staff”. He said they are following the necessary steps, while the blame for the situation was made to link emergency contracts in the past.

KSF commander has been alarmed about “risks for health consequences” for soldiers, due to the current situation with food, while pictures of soldiers' faces and their complaints about what is being served in the media have been published.

President Vjosa Osmani has invited KSF Commander Yashari and Defence Minister Ejup Macedonia to the meeting on Saturday, while requesting detailed reports on the situation.
