EULEX urges investigation after claims for “mishandling” of a Serb by Kosovo Police

Kosovo police denied to have mistreated a Serb early evening, while there have been major reactions from Serbs in the north and non-governmental organisations there.
The EU's mission to the Kosovo Law Ending has demanded that these claims on abuse of citizenship be investigated in question.
“Banning torture and treatment or inhuman or degrading punishment is absolute. We firmly demand that competent organs urgently and efficiently investigate all claims of abuse”, they have said in their response to “KosovoOnline.
“You remember that through our monitoring and advisory role, E ULEX remains committed to supporting rule of law in Kosovo institutions so that they will be stable, responsible and able to effectively guarantee the rights of all without discrimination. If serious shortcomings are identified through monitoring activities, the Mission will resolve them with relevant authorities responsible”, they said.
