Turkey's President, Recep Tayip Erdogan, will hold an official visit to Serbia during the week, the cabinet of Serbia's president has announced on Wednesday, but failing to provide additional details about the visit. It will remain on 10 October and 11 October in Belgrade.
Erdogan has met with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic on 22 September in the Maggy of the UN General Assembly (OKB), where in addition to bilateral reports and global issues, they have also discussed regional stability, specifically about dialogue on normalisation of relations between Kosovo and Serbia.
He has stressed the importance of continuing the dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade, naming this process <x0 quality>> for preserving peace in the Western Balkans, on the basis of a communique released by the Turkish presidency after the meeting.
Turkey has expressed several times the willingness to contribute to the dialogue process for normalising Kosovo-Serbia relations, which is currently under the auspices of the European Union (BE). In general, the process has been characterised by tensions between the two neighbours, especially around the Serb-run northern Kosovo.
