The Defence Ministry has confirmed that Kosovo Security Force soldiers are prepared by the cooks of the Student Centre and the Kosovo Correcting Service.
Through a media communique, the Defence Ministry claims it is “short-term transit period, up to recruiting professional staff”.
The “KSF participants are serving the usual daily shots, the only difference is that food is prepared by cooks borrowed from the Student Centre as well as the Kosovo Correcting Service. This will be a short-term transition period, until the recruit of professional staff”, said in response.
Otherwise, the state has been forced to find temporary solutions for preparing food for KSF soldiers, taking into account the problem with the supply tender.
Improvisation is being done by hiring students' Mensa workers to travel to the barracks to prepare food for the military.
Defence Minister Ejup Macedonia last week admitted in an interview for Dukagjin that there are problems with the tender for food supplies at KSF.
He said there have been decisions and even annulments of them, alluding to his deputy's decision, Shemsy Syla, for this tender to be declared state secret.
Macedonia said the tender for food has won a company but has not been signed, and that the tender is in internal audit of the ministry.
Company “BENIN DONA”, which until yesterday has been contracting for food supply for the Kosovo Security Force, has sent a letter to the Ministry of Defence, through which it has pledged to support the KSF staff in preparing food, despite contract cuts until a solution is found.
From this company they have offered all the equipment they have in the barracks and the delivery of preparation and food distribution services for soldiers until a solution is found.
