New Secretary General NATO, Mark Rutte, at a media conference from Brussels prior to the member states' defence ministers' meeting, has said the situation in the Western Balkans remains disturbing.
At this conference, according to Klankosova.tv, he said the fragility security situation in Kosovo, the little progress made in the EU-led dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, and the Secesionist threats in Bosnia and Herzegovina, are contributing in this respect.
He also said Russia also wants to undermine democracies in the region with cyber threats and hybrids, including dezinformation, mismanagement using weak internal points to fuel divisions.
For more than two decades, Rutte said KFOR has been working for a safe environment for all citizens in Kosovo, and for freedom of movement.
“NATO's devotion to KFOR remains strong now”, the chief said. NATO, Mark Rutte, reports Clankosova.tv.
The meeting between the defence ministers of NATO member states will be held in Brussels on 17 October and 18 October.
