Charge brought against Minister Peci

Former director of the Kosovo Agricultural Institute, Fehmi Geci, has filed charges against Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development Minister Faton Peci.
The indictment was filed with claims that Peci has offended and slandered Geci, writes Index Online.
In the indictment handed down yesterday to the Constitutional Court in Pristina, Minister Peci, in the Parliament's speech, answering MP Mirlinda Tishukay-Sadriu's question, has slandered and insulted Geci's personality, stating: “Project on the inventory of 1.4m euros is one of the most abusive and flagrant projects I have found in the Ministry of Agriculture. ... As a result of the actions I've undertaken as minister, but even the mechanisms of justice, currently the former director of the Agricultural Institute is suspended and with the charges filed, along with three other officials, because of the gross abuse they've done with this project”.
In the indictment filed by Geci, the Agriculture Minister is said to be obliged to withdraw this statement and apologise, as well as to be asked to pay 45 thousand euros in compensation for “reputation damage”. The indictment reportedly has not presented evidence and evidence proving that former director Geci has committed theft in this project.
According to the indictment party, Geci has even been invited to the quality of the suspect rather than the quality of the accused in question.
