CEC with important announcement for Kosovo citizens registered as voters abroad

But if any of them changes their minds even after they're registered as voters abroad and wants to vote physically at their Kosovo deployment on February 9, 2025, The CEC will enable the return to the voting list within Kosovo until December 27th, 2024.

This information has revealed to CEC spokesman Valmir Elez, while the voter registration period outside Kosovo is continuing, which will end on December 26th 2024.

According to him, Article 9 of the 96th General Election Law has preceded that the CEC each registered voter to vote outside Kosovo, remove it from the voter list within Kosovo, Klankosova broadcasts.tv.

It is the legal obligation for the CEC for any voters registered to vote outside Kosovo to remove it from the list of voters within Kosovo, which is distributed in election-day locations. So, a citizen registered to vote outside Kosovo will find his name for the vote only on the voter list outside Kosovo. We personally transmit this information to every citizen who applies and registers to vote outside Kosovo, whether to vote in diplomatic representation or through post-mail”, Elez said.

Furthermore, according to him, the CEC has also given a solution to cases when any citizens change their minds even after it is registered and wants to vote physically on their deployment to Kosovo.

The “could happen that any citizens who, after registered to vote outside Kosovo, would seek to root out this voting way and return to the Voter List within Kosovo to vote physically in the polls. This situation, the CEC has given the CEC a solution through the Election Order for the vote outside Kosovo. So, the voter registered for voting outside Kosovo, who wants to return to the voter list within Kosovo, has time to submit his application up to 24 hours before the end of the period of opposition, in this election process until December 27, 2024”, Elesi reported.

Since 29 August, the application period is under way for voter registration outside Kosovo for voting in the Kosovo Parliamentary Elections, which will end on 26 December 2024.

During this period, all Kosovo citizens living abroad can apply to register as voters outside Kosovo. Their application can be done through electronic platform http://diaspora.kqz-x.org or through mail in the CEC mailbox.

Also, during this period, at the moment of registration voters can individually determine the way they vote:

Vote physically in one of Kosovo's diplomatic representatives
2. sending texting via mail to the CEC mailbox in Kosovo;

3. sending the ballot via mail to one of the mail boxes opened by the CEC outside Kosovo.
