Bird flu allegations closed zoo in Skopje

Due to bird flu allegations, the zoo in Skopje has been closed.

Food and Veterinary Agency inspectors there are conducting investigations and have not yet provided official information, Alsat reports. m

From the Food and Veterinary Agency, however, confirmed that inspectors are doing searches, so far, no advice has been given if visitors should do any medical examinations.

On the other hand, a communique from the Zoo says that the problem is extinguishable and that inspectors have entered the zoo without orders and have killed several birds.

From there they also report criminal gossip to the director of the Food and Veterinary Agency and inspectors.

By this morning, without orders, decision, or other evidence, AUV inspectors accompanied by men with weapons entered the Skopje Zoo and slaughtered birds. No excuse these people by order of AUV director and without evidence so far killed a few dozen birds walking freely in the zoo. It's about the decorated species of ducks and ducks that live in the city park, and they have natural access to the zoo from the city park”

The Food and Veterinary Agency did not respond to accusations from the Zoo.

Former director of the zoo, Gjorgi Galetanovski, confirmed that inspectors are on the ground and showed that people who were present at the zoo this morning were evacuated.

I don't know if there are inspectors from AUV. It's working on the ground, let's hope it's not bird flu, but as I realized it's deadly bacterium”, said Djordje Galetanovski, former director of the Zoo.
