According to official sources, B.B. citizen resident of Gjilan had been sentenced in northern Macedonia to 6 years in prison for narcotics trafficking, and there was still about a year and a half to suffer from his sentence, writes A2 CNN.
Thanks to co-operation between the Local Directorate of the Kukes Police and Interpol Tirana, Bajrami was identified during verifications at the second line of border control.
The Gostivar Court had sentenced the 38-year-old for involvement in narcotics trafficking, a criminal offence that exposed it to international prosecution.
Currently, Interpol Tirana, in co-operation with authorities in northern Macedonia, is following its extradition procedures to end the penalty.
