On 24 September last year, an armed Serb paramilitary group, led by former Serbian List Vice President Milan Radojic, currently under way a terrorist attack in Banjska in Zvecan.
In this attack, the dead sergeant was left, Heroi Africa Bulnjak, and a colleague was wounded.
Among the terrorists, who were reported to have been around 90, 3 remained killed by Kosovo Police Special Units.
But a statement issued last night by Deputy Minister of Local Power Management Arber Vokrri on a private television in the country, when talking about Banjska's attack, has surprised show panelists “Context”.
“If we had been based on the will of any commander there of KFOR troops, we would certainly have been negotiating where we are leaving the border in Vushtrri, Mitrovica or elsewhere. However, it was Africa's blood and the sacrifice and sacrifice of his colleagues, rather than the present NATO soldiers who have been there”, Vorri said.
I did. tv has sent questions to KFOR's peacekeeping mission about their position on this statement.
A mission spokesman has said that their position for the Banjska events last year is public and transparent, and even consistent.
What happened in Banjska was unacceptable and we continue to call for perpetrators to be brought to justice”.
Events in Banjska, according to KFOR spokesman, witnessed a very good co-operation between the Kosovo Police, EULEX and KFOR as the first, second and third reactions, respectively.
Kosovo's “Police were the immediate responder on the ground, while KFOR and EULEX were present and ready to provide support if required. The Kosovo Police's effective response prevented any further escalation of violence and helped stabilise the situation in the area”, this KFOR spokesman has said.
He said that as a consequence of last year's events in the north, KFOR says it increased its presence in Kosovo with about 1,000 additional troops from the reserve.
“We have redoubled our presence in the north and tripled the patrols, including along” the border line.
“They were careful steps to ensure that KFOR has the forces, skills and flexibility to continue fulfilling its UN mandate effectively, to contribute to a safe environment for all people living in Kosovo and freedom of movement, at any time and impartially”.
“This has been the largest reinforcement of our contingent in Kosovo in a decade; and this shows that NATO is willing to maintain peace”, this KFOR spokesman argued.
We remember that Milan Radoicic, along with his terrorist group, after the aggression in Banjska attacked Serbia on foot. There is still no indictment filed in Serbia, while the Kosovo Special Prosecution has already filed charges against him and 44 others suspected of involvement in the attack.
