Albare, in an interview for “el Periodico de Espana” has commented on Spain's decision to recognise Kosovo Republic passports.
“... therefore, we began accepting Kosovo passports. Although that does not mean, as the Spanish Law Council and all states that do not know the European Union, and I say once again, no recognition of Kosovo or its sovereignty. We are five European Union states that do not recognise Kosovo, and five accept their passports”, Albare has said.
Spanish top diplomat has said Spain will not be an obstacle to Kosovo dialogue
But I've said many times and say again here today, that Spain will never be an obstacle to dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina. Neither is the approach between Pristina and the European Union. Because, that territory of Kosovo is within the Western Balkans and goes to the European Union summits with the Western Balkans. And the High Representative did a commendable job and we support him. We can't pretend it doesn't exist. But this does not mean that we know its sovereignty”, Albar has said further.
