Shots fired at a high school in Perry in the U.S. state of Iowa have left some killed”, reports the BBC.
The attack occurred on the day students returned to school from their winter holidays.
Dallas County Sheriff Adam Infante, at a brief news conference, said the attack occurred this morning at 7:37 local time.
A police officer arrived within seven minutes and found multiple <x0-victims with fire weapons”, the Infant Sheriff said.
He stresses that there is no further danger to the public and promises to give another update later today.
Police updates were extremely brief with the sheriff who refused to answer any further questions from reporters.
We still don't know how many victims they are, or what their injuries might be.
Sheriff Adam Infante said that the school had not yet begun when the shooting occurred, so very few students and teachers were on site at the time of the shooting.
This led to a “good results” in terms of the number of people who were damaged, he says.
The attacker has been identified, he adds, refusing to share the name.
