A SK: The number of registered companies increases, trade of favorite activity

Kosovo Statistics Agency (ASK) has published data on new and closed companies for the fourth quarter (TM4) 2023.

According to the AKS, the number of companies registered at TM4 2023 compared to TM4 2022 has increased.

At TM4 2023, compared to the preceding quarter (TM3 2023), there is a decline for (-1,08%) of registered companies. As compared to the same quarter of the previous year, (TM4 2022) has an increase of 7,01% of registered companies.

As for extinct companies, 397 companies were at TM4 2023 or an increase of 5.6%, compared to the preceding quarter (TM3 2023). As compared to the same quarter of the preliminary year (TM3 2022), there was a drop from (-13.1%) of extinct companies.

Favorite Economic Tasks

The favorite economic activities in this quarter were: Major and retail trade, engine repair, motorcycles with 718 registered companies (25.5%); Professional, scientific and technical activities with 306 companies registered (10.8%); Construction with 283 registered companies (10%); Production of 253 registered companies (9.0%), etc.

In the category of 1 to 4 employed are 2 735 registered companies (97.0%); with 5 to 9 employed are 52 Sosh (1.8%); 10 to 19 employed 26 registered companies (0.9%); 20 to 249 employed by 8 registered companies (0.3%). In the category of 250 and more employed, however, there are no new companies in this quarter.

Geographicization of Enterprises

As for the geographical alignment of registered companies at the level of municipalities, as in every quarter, the Pristina municipality dominates with 942 registered companies (33,4%); Ferizaj with 250 registered companies (8,9%); Prizren with 222 registered companies (7,9%); I slept Kosovo with 145 registered companies (5.1%); Gjilan with 139 registered companies (4.9%); Peja with 120 registered companies (4.3%); and Gjakova with 113 registered companies (4.0%).
