Rassic warns that government will make a decision soon to recognise Serbia's license plates. He expects association to be made this year.

In an interview for Voice of America, he stated that “is ungrateful to take responsibility for” and get involved in processes in which he personally has not participated in the last ten years that are the result of Brussels' talks.
The idea that Nenad Rassic will also take part in writing the statute of the Serbian Majority Association, at the end of last year, had been dropped by Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, who declared that I could write a modern European draft of the statute in the following year. This Kurti said by reacting to Emisari Lajcak, who told Gazeta Express that the European proposal for draft the Association statute is Kosovo's internal issue.
If someone were to ask me, maybe I would say "I would like not to be there, but as minister, as a responsible person, maybe you should take responsibility and if it actually happens, it should really work, first of all I would have to have a number of certain experts, not to mention experts who would be from different fields, law, economy, administrations, so that we can harmonise our potential draft state with the legislation and the Kosovo Constitution. It would take time for this, in that case, but of course if I needed to, I would take such a responsibility”, Rassic said of the Voice of America.
He said he expects the Association of Serbian municipalities in line with Kosovo's laws and Constitution to be formed this year.
I honestly believe that it will be approved this year, but when one party tries to waste time (Belgrade), maybe it creates space for the other side (Pristina) to find excuses that something doesn't happen now, but it has to happen later. As of February here in the Balkans, there are always several choices, so reliefers from the European Union are often, I will call it, too rigid to understand the concept of the urgency of adoption, rather they deal more with some longer processes which, in their opinion, are definitely inevitable. In any case, I don't fully agree, but we are the ones who should eventually follow the decisions that are made”, he said.
Minister Rassic said the Kosovo government will soon make a decision on the freedom of moving Serbia's license plates, referring to the fact that no label will be needed to cover state symbols.
I have no doubt that there is readiness for it. I see no reason for denying such a decision, only that maybe we should wait a few days and it would be okay for my opinion”, the Kosovo Minister for Communities and Kthim assured.
Speaking of the return of the displaced last year in 2023, Rassic said he was not satisfied with the results of the return.
“We failed to achieve the goals we had at the beginning of the year because we simply had the difficulties we inherited, mainly in the part of the operator's contract that was responsible for building houses and renovations, which unfortunately had to be interrupted. For it was harmful, and for this reason we didn't achieve exactly what we planned to achieve. The result is half-hearted. As for the number of returnees, we registered 43 last year, of them I think 32 are Serbs and 11 more”, he says.
However, Minister Rassic stresses that he is still satisfied with the number of displaced citizens interested in returning to Kosovo.
I think there's been a big step here, which is very significant for us, and since then we've inherited 19 applicants that were there, now there are about 1130”, Rassic said.
He has shown that “The strategy for protecting the rights and interests of communities and their members, 2023-2027”, which has been adopted by the Government of Kosovo at the recent session at the end of 2023, is a very important document that, among other things, includes the first urban restoration of displaced persons, which must be realised in one of Kosovo's regions, building the house of friendship and proportional representation of non-Albanians in public administration, so 10 per cent, as provided with Kosovo laws.
