The Minister of Management of Local Power in Kurti Government, Elbert Krasniqi, has praised it extremely important as the topic, the petition in the north.

“were successive resignations. The state was mobilized and provided the right answer. The solution was to new choices. As institutions we will not allow blackmail from Serbia”, Krasniqi said.

Krasniqi, said that in response to actions in the north, there was also the question of petition.

The previous “leaders were in office with a large number of votes. We've always had protests about removing them. So we saw opportunities for a mayor to leave the institution”, he said.

Krasniqi, confirmed that all the <x0 municipalities in the north have already made formal demands for the departure of the heads of”.

Signings for the departure of mayors in the north gathered on the basis of the Government of Kosovo Administrative Guide, which was approved in early September 2023.

If the CEC confirms that the signatures collected are enough and verify them, then the vote for the chairman's dismissal will be held within 45 days. For this vote to be successful, it takes 50 percent, plus one vote of citizens for voting.

After that, the result is sent to Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani, who has a legal deadline of 30 to 45 days to announce holding early elections.

The Serbian list had initiated the removal of Serbs from Kosovo institutions in November 2022 and had later called for boycotting last April elections. Evacuation from institutions was made a sign of disappointment with the Kosovo government's decision regarding changing car plates from Serbia to those issued by Kosovo, but since then this issue has been resolved. / ATV
