St Petersburg gas terminal detonated, allegedly hit by fear

An explosion has occurred at a gas export terminal near the town of St Petersburg in Russia, officials say.

The blast caused a major fire, state news agency RIA Novosti said. The agency said the fire was brought under control and there were no reports of injuries, the Klankosova broadcast.

The cause of the fire is unknown, but local media have reported that fear was seen in the area.

Both Russia and Ukraine have used fears in the current conflict. Ukraine usually does not accept such attacks.
