Osman for draft status: Constitution needs to address issues with durability, could undermine Kosovo's internal functioning

Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani has said she will submit her comments to the draft association statute once this draft is in the Constitutional Court.

She has said her comments are in the function of clarifying several issues.

The constitution must say whether this draft-state is in line with the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo. This institution should address issues with durability, which could undermine the internal functioning of the Republic of Kosovo. I have analysed the draft and once the same is in the Constitution, I will send my comments, which will be in the function of clarifying certain issues, which can create serious problems if they are not cleared up, always given the country's constitution and the constitutional court's decision of 2015”, Osmani said in an interview with Reporter.net.

Furthermore, Osmani has said he expects constructive approaches from all acting in the process.

I expect a constructive approach of all acts in this process so that before political battles we can put state interest, national interest, the interest of the Republic of Kosovo as a functional state and at its current borders. ”
