Hashim Thaci's “Support for Jury Protection Foundation” has also officially reacted, following irregularities created in public over the interruption of the contract with some of Thaci's lawyers in The Hague and concerns created by citizens concerning the judicial process.
In their response, this foundation expresses concerns about the long-standing process beyond any forecast, saying defence team spending is becoming unaffordable.
Not wanting to become a burden on the state, according to the official communiqué of the foundation, indicates that President Thaci's family has never used the Justice Ministry's support scheme for more than three years, which is made available based on primary and secondary legislation and that it will continue to cover their own household expenses. But, according to them, the process is growing beyond any forecast and defence teams' expenses are becoming unaffordable for family and willing people, so as foundations express concern for the further process and the inability to respond to defence requirements.
The full communication of Hashim Thaci's “Foundation for Jury Protection:
The “Support for Hashim Thaci's Jury Protection” Foundation, following announcement of the interruption of the engagement contract with a part of President Hashim Thaci's defence team and the Justice Ministry announcement, has accepted numerous citizens' reactions and concerns.
The Ministry of Justice has decided to deliver payments only with the lawyers with whom there is agreement, without specifying limiting the agreement only for a lawyer, who in the case of President Hashim Thaci could cover only the lawyer's expenses. Luca Mistitch. In this way, limiting defence spending by the Ministry of Justice has been unable to continue the corresponding contract, and that the amount limited by this ministry, as such, is not enough even for the monthly spending of an international lawyer's support staff.
By humbly thanking people for each of their concerns, we appreciate the need to offer these clarifications:
As a result of reviewing the sublegal acts by the Ministry of Justice, which has been limited beyond the possibility of compensation for defence team spending in The Hague's judicial process, even though the law in power has established legal grounds to cover these expenses, the only solution was to cut the contract with a part of Mr. Thaci due to financial inadequacy to cover these expenses.

However, so far, almost the entire commitment of Mr. Thaci is covered by the contribution of family and goodwill, and we thank him warmly for his support. Not wanting to become a burden on the state, President Thaci's family has never used the Justice Ministry's support scheme for more than three years, which is enabled based on primary and secondary legislation, and it will continue to cover their own household expenses. But the process is growing beyond any forecast and defence teams' spending are becoming unaffordable for family and goodwill people, so we are concerned about the process of furthering and unable to respond to defence requirements.
Expressing gratitude for all contributors, we request that the issue of legal protection spending be addressed with the highest seriousness of the country's institutions.
