Germany, Albania, the United Kingdom, NATO member states have added or increased the number of their troops in Kosovo, following the security situation in the country.
The German Armed Forces through a media report have indicated that as a result of worsening the security situation in Kosovo, Germany will increase the number of its troops in Kosovo under KFOR.
German General Bernd Schutt has spoken of the issue, saying additional German troops will land in Kosovo in the spring.
We're sending an additional infantry company into action,” Lieutenant General Schutt said.
Before Germany, at the end of last year, the Albanian state has confirmed it will send additional troops to NATO's peacekeeping mission in Kosovo.
Albania's ambassador to Kosovo, Petrit Malaj, speaking of the security situation in Kosovo, stressed that the danger of any other attack from Serbia may be permanent.
The Albanian diplomat said that this year they will bring 40 additional troops within KFOR. Ambassador Malaj had announced that the actual number of Albanian soldiers under the NATO mission in Kosovo is over 100.
Meanwhile, during October, KFOR, led by Turkish Commander Ozkan Ulutas, joined 134 additional troops from Romania, and 200 other members from the United Kingdom.
The addition of KFOR troops in Kosovo has taken place especially after the Serbian terrorist attack on 24 September in northern Kosovo.
A total of 4,687 troops, from 27 countries around the world, currently serve in Kosovo, under the peacekeeping mission of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO), KFOR.
NATO, which in the same period last year counted 3,762 members in Kosovo, has argued the addition of presence with increased tensions in the Serb-run north.
Otherwise, the KFOR mission in Kosovo has consistently distributed pictures of American soldiers, Italians and not themselves patrolling Kosovo's northern border.
